Refund Policy

If you purchased a refundable or unrestricted fare on Fly Jamaica Airways you may request a refund.  However, the itinerary must be cancelled before the scheduled departure time.

The refund will be processed in the currency in which the payment was tendered.

The refund will be made to the person whose name appears on the reservation unless proof of payment by a third party is provided.  However, where payment was made by credit card the refund will be made only to the account of the credit card holder.  Where a paid reservation is in the name of a minor the refund will be made to the parent, guardian or a third party so designated.

If at the time of purchase the purchaser designates another person or entity to whom/which the refund will be made, then the refund will be made to the person so designated.  A refund made in accordance with this procedure to a person representing him or herself as the person so designated shall be deemed a valid refund and Fly Jamaica Airways will not be liable to the purchaser or any other person for another refund.

All refunds are subject to the fare rules and fees and/or penalties applicable to the fare purchased.

A refund may be allowed on a fare which combines refundable and non-refundable fares (mixed fares).  The rules which relate to non-refundable fares will be applicable to the non-refundable portion of the fare and those which related to refundable fares will be applicable to the refundable portion of the fare.

Where a reservation is made with a payment, such reservation may be cancelled within 24 hours with a full refund of the payment made without penalty if the reservation is made one week or more prior to the flight’s scheduled departure.

Where the fare is non-refundable or restricted, you may still be able to cancel your itinerary and reschedule your travel, subject to all applicable fare rules and change penalties, within one year of the original itinerary and payment receipt. Travel must begin on the reissued itinerary within one year of the date of the original itinerary and payment receipt.

For an involuntary downgrade refund, the refund amount is the proportional fare difference between the paid class and the actual class of travel.

Fly Jamaica Airways will refund fees charged to passengers for optional services which the passenger was unable to use due to an over sale situation or flight cancellation.

Fly Jamaica Airways may make an exception to its policy regarding non-refundable or restricted fares, in the event of the death of the passenger, immediate family member or traveling companion, upon the provision of a copy of the death certificate to Fly Jamaica Airways Refunds Department. Fly Jamaica will issue refunds for eligible fares within 7 business days of receipt of the application for refund with respect to credit/debit card purchases.  However, it may take up to two billing cycles for the refund to be reflected on your credit/debit card statement.  Refunds for eligible fares where purchase is made by cash or certified cheque will be processed within 20 business days after receipt of the application for refund. These times frames apply, provided that you submit all the necessary information/documentation required to process your refund.

Where fares are purchased through travel agents the request for refund must be submitted to the travel agency.
